The purpose of SIS is to engage people in volunteerism, particularly those ages 55+ who offer the Tampa Bay community a unique resource of diverse experiences, skills, and backgrounds.

Strategic Goal #1.  (Services)

While continuing to provide  federally funded  programming for low-income stipended volunteers,  broaden SIS  to be  a volunteer placement organization, capable of demonstrating measurable results,  and  committed to encouraging and engaging all Tampa Bay residents in volunteerism, particularly those age 55+, resulting in SIS being the recognized leader in volunteer placement among those age 55+.

Strategic Goal #2 (Collaborations)

Seek and find key collaborators with the purpose of maximizing the available volunteer and funding resources to increase the impact SIS is currently having on children’s and senior’s lives in Tampa Bay.

Strategic Goal #3 (Staff and Agency Infrastructure)

Staff SIS with a highly competent team of professionals recognized for their expertise in volunteer management and ensure they are supported by appropriate technology, facilities, training, fundraising and marketing.

Strategic Goal # 4 (Financial Health)

Diversify and increase SIS’s revenue streams to include additional federal government dollars, private giving dollars, and pay for service fees, resulting in a balanced budget and adequate reserves.

Strategic Goals #5 (Advocacy)

Actively advocate for those 55+, resulting in SIS being recognized as the advocate for 55+issues.

Strategic Goal #6 (Governance)

Develop and maintain an engaged and diverse board committed to continually improving its performance as a governing board characterized by transparency and good stewardship.
